Somebody got it! 
Had to happen. Ken Smith Basses are excellent axes. That was the 1st "boutique" bass I ever played on. My instructor had a walnut finished one and when he let me play it, it played like butter and the tone was the best I'd ever heard up to that point (hadn't gotten my hands on an Alembic yet

). I liked it so much, I went out and picked up a used Ken Smith Burner.
Comparing the Ken Smith Burner (made in Japan) or a Ken Smith Design (made in Korea?) to the CRs, BRs, BSRs, etc made in Ken's Pennsylvania shop would be like comparing apples to watermelons.
Thankfully, I'm pretty much 5-string GAS proof, so I was able to look, appreciate, and move on.
