You know, it wouldn't be so funny if it weren't true, LOL!  You gotta admit tho, that's a pretty hot deal.

Makes me wonder though... what the heck is it doing at Guitar Center?  Did someone allow themselves to get ripped off on a bad trade-in deal or something?

haha, you know you're not allowed to be on the internet until i get my bass.......

HAHAHA

LOL!!!

man if that is the used price?

i was thinking well i can wait til next years refund check for a lakland. i have no choice but to love my simone. she cost me $650 that's about the best I could do. Great bass but I had a chance to play a lakland. I thought wow maybe there is something to more expensive basses. the only smith I have ever played was a KSD and it looked like a Marcus Miller. I thought it felt terrible and too hard to get a good sound.

my 2cents i am done.

What's a simone?

I'm guessing that's what he named his bass.

Somebody got it! :'(

Had to happen.  Ken Smith Basses are excellent axes.  That was the 1st "boutique" bass I ever played on.  My instructor had a walnut finished one and when he let me play it, it played like butter and the tone was the best I'd ever heard up to that point (hadn't gotten my hands on an Alembic yet  ;) ).  I liked it so much, I went out and picked up a used Ken Smith Burner.

Comparing the Ken Smith Burner (made in Japan) or a Ken Smith Design (made in Korea?) to the CRs, BRs, BSRs, etc made in Ken's Pennsylvania shop would be like comparing apples to watermelons.

Thankfully, I'm pretty much 5-string GAS proof, so I was able to look, appreciate, and move on.

Peace,

James
