The best bass for the $$$$
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:50:19 PM »
I have to tell you guys about this bass I found that will blow your mind!!!!
Fender makes this Squire bass called the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass® Man its a bit under $300 even less! Its like the Geddy Lee bass, but everythings made in India or somewhere like that. Check it out: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0326702521

And this is me with mine in the studio:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/haPoSN15Jks&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/haPoSN15Jks&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Yeah I heard the two sharp notes too, they were fixed!!!! And the video's cut bad too LOL!~!! Im also the drummer on the track...God Bless!

I have to say, the new line of Squier guitars and basses are really nice! I have a Squier Deluxe Active 5 and it's a pretty nice bass for the money ($299)! I'm looking to get one of those Vintage Modifieds for my son who is expressing interest in playing bass.

I got one crazy cheap on TB b/c it has a ding in the body.  I bought it to bring camping (and play with my Hog30), but its about too good for that.  Nice playability and tone.  The maple body even has some flaming in it!

Squier is no longer just a "budget" brand.  They've got some nice offerings these days.

I currently play an SX Jazz 5 from Rondo music (around $160 shipped, there is an ongoing thread about them).  If I were going to go up a notch in price--and I couldn't find a used MIM Fender--I would shop Squier.  If they only made a fretless 5... :(

Sadly, I know.  But I have a MIM Fender fretless 4 already.
