Tuning and good ears doc. Ari is a masterful player. This just shows the possibilities. Ole skool jazzers have done this for years. I love doing this approach... finding the right mallets for durability and price are a factor for me. The mallet approach really bring he percussionist side to the fore front.

Musical is not even the word for this.  Terry Bozzio needs Drumkit-zilla to pull off the stuff he does.  Ari does it on a 4 piece.
