Weekend Shed.....November 2, late edition
« on: November 02, 2008, 09:55:57 PM »
Hello my brothers and sisters in Christ. I am on the road for 4 weeks straight with work. I came home friday and will be back out tomorrow and the next two weeks. I pray that everyone had a blessed sunday and had their spiritial shed on. Of course with first sunday I know that some of your MOM's threw in something special. I am even willing to bet that Floaded got his list of songs and music early this week! Dhag, I know you was laying it down smooth.

We had a blessed time today. I heard that the Potter's House layed off 30 people at church this week and several were musicians from what I understand, and some had just got there only a few weeks ago. I know a few of them so please be in prayer for them and this economy and cutbacks are everywhere.

I pray that each of you had security with your jobs and that God will continue to bless and provide.

Have a blessed week.

Que
May God's Grace & Mercy smile upon you!

Que, your weekend shed post is always right on time. :D

Today we were blessed to have our pianist return. She has been battling cancer, but today she felt well enough to play.  God is most definitely in the healing business!

I have been putting in a lot of time with the group I recently joined, an experience that has blessed me both musically and spiritually.

But this weekend I am taking off...the first weekend I have had off in 8 months.  Guitar Center, here I come! ;D

aww man. where do i start. well this sunday was my sunday to usher, but as i was setting up my bass and equipment (i still have to play for the choir selections so i set up before service starts) i get handed a list for p&w. i said im not playing because i got to usher and handed it back, but then i said, "let me look at that, just in case i gotta come up here". Geez, boy was i right. The first song was "the presence of the lord is here" and the organist still dont know how to play it (even though they did that song every rehearsal for the past 3 or 4 p&w rehearsals) so i went up to play. have no idea what key he was in and the drummer hadnt come in yet, so the tempo was soooooooo off. finally we got it together (kinda like duct taping your car bumper on until you get to the shop. technically, its on, but anybody can tell that its a wreck) the next song was "high & lifted up". this dude changed the key that its in (i abso-tive-pos-olutely HATE when he does that.) and he just sucked the life out of the song (as if the p&w team wasnt doing a good enough job of doing that themselves. p&w was atrocious. and they didnt even try to redeem themselves. when they were done i couldnt put my bass down and go to my usher post fast enough.

choir was decent. pretty solid. actually the second song "Gods Got a Blessing (norman hutchins)" was pretty good and took off. well mind you my brother led the song and we were both on our usher posts earlier in agreement that p&w was horrible. maybe he felt the need to really reach out.
For my God... let "Golden Axe" prevail.
