Genz Benz
« on: August 20, 2008, 08:00:58 AM »
Anyone using Genz Benz?  There's been alot of talk over on the TB forums about GB lately so I was curious to see if anyone in the gospel arena has tried out their stuff.....particularily the Shuttle amps.

Any comments are welcome.....good, bad, happy, sad, it's too loud and made your momma mad, etc.  So lets hear it lol

I haven't play one yet, but I've been considering the Shuttle.  :)

Same here. I'm also interested in the GK-MB2 and the Ashdown Little Giants coming soon.

Me too....I finally broke down and ordered when yesterday.  I love my WT330 but it just doesn't have the watts to cut through the mix on some of the larger gigs....

I was really looking foward to the LG's but got tired of waiting for their release in the US along with a few other small complaints but we'll see if the GB can live up to the hype...

I haven't played one either, but I visited a church a while ago... and the bass player was playing through one near where I was sitting.
It packed a lot of punch... I don't know which model he was playing through.

expensive that kinda what steers me away from most anything. I don't wanna spend anymore then an avatar cab if an avatar will do a great job.

sometimes you gotta pay to play.

On the other hand, I got my schroeder 1210R cheaper than I got my avatar b410neo and it sounds 2 times as good.

My poweramp died a coupla months ago. I had also seen the stuff on talkbass.com. So I checked out the Gemz Benz Shuttle 6.0. It is the best amp I've played through, 3.75 lbs and 600 watts @ 4 ohms and 375 watts @ 8 ohms.
It has a tube preamp and sounds great.

ive played through one at a store once......a little empty sounding to me but i didnt play it that long. im goin off the subject, if youre thinking about buying one i would suggest buying of americanmusical.com. they sell the genz benz shuttle amps if you have a bank debit card you can pay the first payment and they send it to you.

No kidding!  The genz is great but I found a good price on a new unit.  No way I could/would pay the $799 most places want for it lol, gotta be a smart shopper!

Im a unofficial endorser LOL.  I have a GBE 600, Shuttle 6.0, and the NEOX 212.  Either amp KILLS!  I got the shuttle and a bag for $625 (TB special lol).  I have to say, GB is a brand I think thats catered to gospel.  It has the clarity and still straight dumps on the lows.  The tube/solid state hybrid concept works perfectly.  And talk about loud and powerful?  I took my rig in our bandhall and set it up on one side.  Then I got two monster cables connected by my tuner so I could stand on the other side far away, and I started playing and steadily turned up the volume until it was at 10.  The cab NEVER distorted or farted out.  It remained clear as ever.  That really impressed me.  Then they have some of the best costumer service ever.

Alot of the places Ive been at that had other bass players, Ive actually offered them to use my rig.  Sometimes ppl take that the wrong way, esp. if they think their gear is subpar.  I just want to turn ppl on to it, and I like to hear how diff ppl sound through the rig *shrugs*.  Its a great investment.  I want a 112 for smaller gigs and I'll be done.
Praise Him!

Wow....you are definitely a hardcore GB fan lol!!!  My shuttle is scheduled to arrive on Monday and I'm already looking foward to trying it out with my aguilar GS112's.  If this amp sounds as good (and full) as everyone says then I should be able to get away with using one of the 112's or a 210 for smaller gigs and some 210+112 or (2)112 combination for larger venues....man I just wish it could handle 2 Ohms!!!

I have had mine for two months now and love it. It is compact, light, and loud. It has a nice clean tone flat but if you need some booty then just hit that low filter knob and boom you got it in spades. I play mine through Epifani performance cabs and this rig is one of the best sounding rigs I have ever owned.

Here is a camera phone pic. I have to get all my gear together in one spot and take a nice family photo.

I have one and enjoy it emmensely especiallyg thru the Genz Benz Neo 12 ( which I've never been a fan of neo speakers until recently ),but I recently signed a deal with Hartke so I proably won't get to play it out in other venues but it's a fun little amp.

guess i cant play then lol. There's a reason why I still play through my GK Backline cabs.
