I know my scales, major/minor chords in every inversion. I also know my M7 & dom7 but i don't know what to do with them. I would like to see a video that teaches good practice techniques. Yes, like progressions and the like. Jamal has a video on youtube about talk music and he talk about a 6-4 progression but doesn't explain what chord his was playing. It was a very nice chord but i would like to know why he played that type of chord. I have a question. Is there something out there that shows you different ways of playing ..for example the 6-4. I know you can be very creative with progression but it would help to explain it in little more detail. I hope you understand what i'm talking about.

hey Mike.  It's me Casper.  Check out my website.  Easy DVD Volume 3 is ready.  It forces you to use progressions in practice according to the system we talked about.  I don't want to spam on this site so you know my web address.

The progressions that were shown are on the new Play by Ear DVD. I take time to show you all of the progressions and why they sound they way they do and tons of variations. This is the DVD I should have done first, but it is definitely a must have for beginners.

What you need to start working on now (IMO) is repertoire.  How many songs can you play 'completely' through without stopping or messing up.  Start to make a list and be honest with yourself.  Even if they are basic songs, that is a great start.

Yes that IS the DVD you should have worked on first. Woulda helped me with the Urban Worship DVDs.

Anyway no hard feelings. :)

Ha....Well, I wasn't the same Jamal back in 2004. I keep learning myself as well. I'm trying to come stronger and stronger every new video....

Thanks for supporting the ministry though  :-p

We all are out here trying to learn, and I use your videos myself. Thank you and keep up the good work.
