The Burden of the Pastor!
« on: June 26, 2012, 03:18:36 PM »
Hello LGM it's been a while since I have posted anything on here. This topic has been in my spirit, for about a week now. I'm only 24 so I'm still learning a lot of things about ministry. What exactly is the Burden of the Pastor? Is it the burden of him desperately wanting the people in his congregation to really know God? Or is it people in general? LGM Pastors I really would like to hear from you on this touchy topic. Also Pastors wives I would like to hear from you too. How much this burden should affect a Pastor? Is it a cry in your spirit for the people? Help me understand.
What God is Going to do in your life later on will make sense of whats happening right now.

I'm not a pastor but from my reading and discussion with other pastors, here are some main burdens I often hear:
1) Being avaliable 24 hours a day (pastoring as a full-time job).
2) Ministering to people, who represent being an incomplete job and often times ministering to people who they know do not like them.
3) Having to be careful of not allowing ego and heroism take hold of their ministry.
4) The reality that souls are in the hands of the pastor. What is taught and being preached carries a lot of weight.
