Where can I sell tracks?
« on: May 23, 2008, 11:41:41 AM »
I compose some songs but haven't put words to them (not really good at that). Is there some place where I can sell the music to? Thanks.

You gotta start networking and making connections. Word of mouth and the internet is the best way to market yourself. Join some production forums, do a myspace page, check out craigslist. Just get your name out there. Start talkin to musicians and hand out samples of your work. Guitar center and sam ash are also good places to network. I know in NY Sam ash has a beat contest, where producers play thier tracks, and win stuff. Look into stuff like that.

Check out my blog. It's in my signature.  If you are seriously about this, you need industry contracts, and connections, plus a tax id(free) and to sign up with BMI or ASCAP...go read some stuff on my blog.

p.s
there are plenty of sites that will let you sell your songs, but those sites are just letting you "pimp yourself", as I call it. lol...check out the blog. http://howtomakehits.blogspot.com
