New Hotness: More Than Anything - Lamar Cambell
« on: September 20, 2008, 11:29:51 AM »

I was practicing this song today, and had this progression dropped on me!

This is the part of the song, at the end, where they keep repeating "I just want to say that I love you more than anything."

Key: Cb (The song is in Ab, but my wife likes to sing in Cb.)

Fb-Cb-G \ Cb-D-Gb-Cb .... More
D-A \ Db-Gb-Bb ... than
Db-Ab-Fb \ Ab-Cb-Eb-Ab ... annn
Eb-Bb-Gb \ Bb-Db-F-Bb ...ny
Ab-Eb-Gb \ Eb-Gb-Bb-Cb ....thing

This is the same progression that I posted before. This is like one of my favorite progressions now!

This is one of the ways that I normally use it:
(As passing chords to a 7-3-6)

Key Eb:

Fm9, EbMaj7, Dsus9, G7 #5#9, Cm9

Here is a break-down of the chords.
F \ Ab-C-Eb-G
Eb \ G-Bb-D-G
D \ A-C-E-G
G \ B-Eb-F-A#
C \ Bb-D-Eb-G

They're the same, except for the key signature. Cb has  flats. B has 5 sharps. When I see "B", I normally think "Cb".

Right, sorry to confuse you. I don't like writing things our in B. It's easier for my mind to write it out in Cb. Plus, I know if I had said the key was B then used Eb instead of D#, then SOMEBODY would've said something. :)

If you use a certain key, then you should know what notes are actually in it.

LOL! See! Like I said, I posted that progression before. I use that same progression to go to a lot of the other intervals too, like just before a 5-1-4. In this case, it's going to the 2 chord, which is Db. This is the first time that I used it like this.
