Who's this guy
« on: September 20, 2008, 12:55:15 AM »
There's this guy who plays guitar for Tye Tribbett who has his own band but I can't think of his name!  He's kinda chubby and has long dreads.

In fact, he's the dude the blue in the middle in this video clip.

Would ya'll happen to know the name of his group that he fronts?  They opened for Tye & GA and there was this song they did that I totally fell in love.  However, I still can't find it!  The only word from the lyrics I can remember is, "rain".

Thank ya much for ya help!

That key-tar looks interesting. I wonder what it feels like to play those. They look awkward.

Generally speaking...Keytars just look sorta scarey/crazy.   :o  :o

I would love to have one, though.  When I was younger I thought they were sooo cool!  One day (about 2 years ago) during my first visit to The Guitar Center I asked if they had a "keyboard guitar thingy".  They said no and that they went out in the 80s, but they could order me one.  One of the guys at the register was trying real hard to hold in a laugh.  I said, "No, that's ok.  I just wanted to see [meaning 'play'] it".  They looked at me like, "...ok...?"

I'm such a follower cause now that Tye has one it gives me the guts to go get one and not mind that snickering guy in the background.   :-[  Sad, I know.

That's Darnell of Darnell and the Praise Team.
I met him a few months ago at a friend's gig.
Nice dude. I think he plays at another local church.

HAHA!
That meeting was totally unscheduled. My friend was playing a gig at this church where Darnell and his band would be playing the next month. My wife and I got up to do a couple songs and afterwards Darnell came over and introduced himself, saying he played with Tye.
I didn't get his autograph but we did trade business cards.  ;)

I just found the name of the song that I liked.  It was, "Overflow".  Unfortunately it's not on  his myspace page.   :(
