I had a discussion with a friend about church music these days and it seems as if certain musicians don't know how to harness their desire to show off and do everything they can in a service. Then there are those who don't pratice to get better than the current funk that they are in. When you have old folk hating what the musicians play for shouts and the younger people leaving church because the shouts are not up to par...I think there is a problem, and when it is like that then the purpose for music in the church is defeated and becomes a distraction.

I believe there is a medium to where everyone can be happy and the music not be a distraction. The music should not be to chops & licks extreme and at the same time it should not be boring but, played skillfully and up to par. What do you guys think? I have a clip below of the Mayfield Brothers who are beasts as everyone knows by now! I believe this type of shout or church music can be played in most denominations such as COGIC, APOSTOLIC, BAPTIST(some), PENTECOSTAL, NON-DENOMINATION, and most churches that incorporate "praise breaks" without requiring the church trustees to have a meeting with Pastor about what was played last Sunday. The clip is my definition of a true "church sound". If you have any other clips or opinions please share.

Aye yo, that is the best clip I heard with traditional shout music mixed in with a little modern shout music in a minute.  That clip is definitely Holy Ghost Fire...Whew Weee...Ha, ha..That has a little something for every praiser to enjoy.  Whew..This shout clip is going on my youtube favorite list. i grew up in church my whole life,i been around musicians my whole..so maybe my standerds are a little different than YA'LL..i never said i didnt like the clip.ive just said that thats not the best i seen..and it still isnt..

Oh.. ok cool bro. I've been in church, around musicians, and have been a musician all my life too. Nobody said that was the best clip they've seen. We're just saying it's an excellent example of a mix of old and new for all to enjoy. It's cool man.
