I bought this DVD about 8 months ago...and I keep enjoying it so much that I thought I'd ask if anyone else picked it up.

It isn't the world's greatest guitar instruction video...but it is so P&W/Gospel specific that I'm drawn into the quick pace. It's more like guitar playing suggestions along with some great music performed by a very tight group of professionals.

Here's a YouTube teaser for the guitar video (the series has specific videos for keyboards, bass & drums also):

Check out the guitar solo used on "Revive Us Again" toward the end of the clip. WOAH! Very tasty flash IMHO.

Certainly worth the price paid vs. the same money paid for a typical guitar lesson. Something of interest here for players of all ranges, ages & styles.

OK i have bought this DVD and after viewing the entire DVD i have to warn that IT IS NOT AN INSTRUCTIONAL DVD!!!

He does not show you what scales to play or what chords to use and stuff like that. Its more of a studio session thing where they go through different songs and different styles of playing them. Beginners who are hoping to learn stuff may be a bit disappointed.

I like it cuz it showed perspective on where each instrument's place is within the band setting and what is expected of each instrument.

I would say it is NOT your typical instructional DVD.

I found it motivating because it illustrated a broad range of styles and possibilities available within worship music.

It is more of an "ideas" kinda DVD and I've revisited it much more frequently than many of the typical instructional DVDs.

Still...my primary purpose in mentioning it was that it is one of the ONLY guitar related DVDs that touch on contemporary gospel performance while still keeping a CCM sensibility and shows how BOTH can be worked into expanding multiethnic worship services.
