Just got through playing "Judge Judy" at the gas station.
Scenario:
Man pulls up to pump 9 at the shell station. He goes inside and pays cash for gas on pump 11. Meanwhile, there is a lady that pulls up to pump 11 and swipes her credit card for gas.
The man realizes that he game the cashier the wrong pump number, so he goes back inside and tells the cashier. The cashier tells him that pump 11 has already pumped $16.38 worth of gas, but stopped.
The customer from pump 11 comes in and the cashier explains the situation. The lady from pump 11 says that the machine took her card and that it was approved. And that she is not giving him $16.38, because it doesnt belong to him. The cashier is trying to explain that the pump was already on when she went to pump, the credit card is irrelevant, because nothing was deducted from her card. The lady from pump 11 becomes beligerant (sp) and refused to pay the man his $16.38...
So, from what I can see... The guy should have paid better attention to what pump he was on. Thats his fault that this happened. Unfortunately its his loss. BUT on the other hand, the lady on pump 11 knows good and well that the mchine didnt print a receipt, and that if she were to call her ccard company, they would tell her that there is no transaction. She know as well as we all did that she was getting $16.38 worth of free gas...
Soooooo... Who is in the wrong here?
