I don't think anyone is saying that! I know I'm not! The point is that weed is bad for you just like cigs and it will hold you back. Theres several helth issues (mental and phisical)that can result from smoking weed as well as several other things a person can do.

 

Man, eating food can cause health issues. It's all in how you do things. There is a purpose for the everything. People just need to do things in moderation.

It has everything to do with church folks. More specifically, black church folks Where exactly does the bible speak of taking care of the body? You tell me... Moreover, is your method of "taking care" of the body better than mine or anyone elses? How? If "wrong is wrong" as you say, then, what is wrong? Define it. Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left. Were you "DELIVERED FROM IT" as the 10 leppers? Or did you decide one day that it was stupid and you came into the knowledge of a better way? By the way... What exactly were we called to do? Play drums???

That 3 cymbal stack he's using sounds so nice. I actually tried 2 16" A Customs for hi-hats because of this guy and they didn't sound too bad. I couldn't do the 18"s because the spring in the church hi-hat stand is just about done.

People just need to shut their mouths when speaking on certain things that they truly don't understand. Dude smoking weed has nothing to do with his playing or gliches in his phasing. If someone can prove that, then do so.

Yeah i kinda dont know why that whole topic of him smoking came up in the first place. alot of the pauses in his playing some times are musical and sometimes are just cause you are trying to figure out something in your head. i see it happen to people all the time especially those that play as spontaneous as thomas and they dont smoke.

regardless dude is still a monster and i believe he feels very disrespected in a way but w/e im not dr. phil so im not gonna try and mediate or express opinions over things that i dont have all the facts behind.

i am not someone that has memorized every verse in the bible but i do recall there being something in there referring to the body as the Lords temple and that we are to take care of it etc.

its along the same lines of conversation about why christians shouldnt get tatoos if they arent for glorifying God etc. . .

i would have to look up the rest of the stuff and get back to you.

BTW not trying to call you out or nothing its just something i remember being talked about in church so if you feel offended apologies =^)

Yea man i feel you. i think it also has to do with church folk thinkin that because they dont necessarily have the same struggle as your or that theirs isnt as public as yours that they can open their mouth and say what they want when they want to and alot of times its either not called for or its not the right place or its not said in the right way at all.

Second I was on my phone at work and didnt have time to search, but as a true believer in God's word, I Know what ive learned and studied for myself!!! Point is its in there!! This was never about heaven or hell, but being obedient to Gods word which could send you to heaven or hell. Its not my job to judge, but to spread truth!!! Truth is its not godly and there is no way around it!! I wasn't discounting anything that you say man, I just kinda added to it. On the real, this what I tell my children; I tell them to not to even think about smoking weed, cigarettes, crack, meth, and all the other crap in the world. Period.
Nobody was born with a joint, blunt, pipe, cigarette, etc in their mouth. It's not a necessity, we don't need it. But, I'm not judging who does. I'm not pure in my body. I have tats, and done some things that are considered taboo. I've never smoked cigarettes, crack, meth or did coke, but I'm not one to trip off another for smoking weed.

Personally, I prefer the KJV of that particular scripture. Moreover, this would not be the first time someone has used one small verse of an entire biblical chapter, without explaining its context, in an attempt to make a point. Nevertheless, I will slow down my metronome to 40bpm so you can try to add something useful to the discussion...

It's always a matter of the heart.

This is just another endless debate of "will I go to hell if I do this?".

Please, as smart as everyone trying to be right now with their big words and pithy comments, just stop it. It gets so repulsive after awhile.

"Can I do this" and "Can I do that" have never been the real issue. All I know is we can't serve two masters. If an object (or person), whether it be food, cigarettes, pornography, the gym, your diet, your job or sports, masters you and is your treasure, what you hope in, then I would say your heart has not yet been transformed by the gospel. You really haven't seen the light for lack of better words. I would even go as far as to say you aren't a Christian, but I won't  .   

Like I said, it's always a matter of the heart. Don't point to the spec in your brothers eye while there is a plank in yours. This debate doesn't ever finish well, I know first hand, I'm usually the one causing the mess!

No smoking dosent send you to hell, but disobedience can!!! Your obedience determines your relationship with God. The closer you are to him, then the more you are willing to do and sacrifice. If you adored God so much, it wouldnt be any problem TRYING to be obedient to his word, because it would be your determination to please him. The more distant you are from God, the more you subject yourself to the things that CAN send you to hell. One thing the church has stopped preaching was heaven and hell, like there isnt going to be anyone judgement at the end. Its all blessings and prosperity thats being preached these days. Blessings and prosperity will not help you if your soul is not where it should be. Im not judging anyone, because like I said we all have our own problems, and I myself smoked Marijuana, but I know It was pushing me further away from God. Why cause it destroys your body. Number 2 The bible you are either for me or against me, and if you are for me you would obey my words. This whole thing wasnt intended to determine Thomas's heaven or hell status, but just to show the brother that it is bad for your health man thats all, and that a healthy body is Gods desire for you. He gave the body to do his work. God didnt create just to hang around. He created us for his glory!!! How do we bring glory to God?? By being obedient, reaching out to his people, spreading the Gospel, saving souls!!!And if we dont take care of our body, we wont be in the proper health to operate in excellence!!! Man them Cowboys are the BOMB!!!! I wouldnt even care if we didnt make the post-season. We proved ourselves Sunday night. The world thought we couldn't beat em, especially after a rough controversy week. So we stepped up and did what America thought we couldnt do!!!

And yes Thomas is a amazing!!! I cant rob him, the boy is gifted!!!!
