I do understand and know the true meaning of Christmas. If I have offended or upset anyone, I'm sorry.

You may want to learn the history behind the word "Xmas". ;)

Matter of fact, I'll help you out: (see the information below)

Quote
The Greek transliteration of the word Christ is Xristos, the first letter which is the Greek letter "chi". The shortening of Christmas to Xmas by educated persons who knew Greek has been common since the sixteenth century, with the "X" often symbolizing a cross. "Xmas" was an ecclesiastical abbreviation used by churchmen in tables & charts. More recently the use of "X" has been associated with irreverent commercialism, leading to the saying "Put the 'Christ' back into Xmas". The American profanity "Jesus H. Christ", may come from the second letter of "chi" ("Christos" for "Xristos"), and has been in the use in the United States at least since 1850.

(I think we kind of go through this every year; so there may be a post about it already.)

....At any rate, I just re-learned We Three Kings. I'm going to post a video on YouTube this week, once I get a chance to record it.

Thanks for the knowledge, B3Wannabe.  I didn't know that. Learn something new everyday. Just shows how we fly off the handle sometimes for no reason at all, based solely on how we feel.  I'm reminded that the Word of God says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge". Thanks again. God Bless

Thanks for the knowledge. I did not know what xmas really meant. I've learned something new.

If we stop learning, we will stop growing(IN CHRIST)

Has anyone played this song in church for their youth?  We found something to relate each day to Jesus Christ.  Thanks!

Well we are friggin' Americans and English speakers, not Greek, so unless you wanna try to pronounce "Xristos", lets just keep it as "Christmas"

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D just kiddin'

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And westbrooks whatchu' mean by "Xmas chords"... Are they special chords that only come during Christmas?... Imagine getting a Hb13#11 chord for Christmas... or learning the K flat minor scale... that would be a gift to remember!!
