Alright people. The word is THEIR.

There
Their
They're

Each of these three words has their own distinct meanings and proper usages. They're to be used correctly in sentences, so please make sure you're (nout your) using them correctly in the sentence before placing them there.

Ok sorry I had to get that out. Couldn't hold it in any longer. It's the teacher in me! :D

OK carry on.  ;)

LOL @ Warlock! :D

I know you might not remember but I was given a Grammar Wiz Club card a LONG time ago by the GW himself, SJon. ;)

Like I said, it's the teacher in me, and after seeing that word used incorrectly THREE TIMES IN A ROW, I had to let my lil' venting out. I'm sure from now on you'll think about it each time you use the word, so then my work is not in vain. Like the old song says: "If I can help somebody as I travel along the way...then my living will not be in vain"! ;D

I don't think it's closet envy.  I give them props for their structure and approach all the time, but it's all worthless if you promote a false doctrine.
Thanks Ness for keeping the main thing the main thing.

They dont even have God! And if the enemy is the author of confusion, then whats perceived to be order is only to confuse on a more grandiose level.

the main thing is the content of what you witness.

Hey, so I woke up yesterday at 4 in the morning and Oprah had this special on with Tom Cruise (interview). Anyway; it got me to thinking that she would most certainly be included in the ones that bring another doctrine and thus requiring us to not bid her God speed

Indeed.  Many don't see it that way, but I'd be inclined to agree with you.

I'll leave the "godspeed" discussion up to you guys... I have but one thing to say about the JW's (well, two things):

1. If we spent half as much time developing and adopting the systematic approach to witnessing they did, and then actually implemented it, we'd be a lot further along as a body than we are.  Furthermore, half of the JWs would probably be Christians if we were about our Father's business (the way they are) instead of our own.

2. Has anyone noticed that there's only ONE denomination of Jehovah's Witnesses?  One organization.  They don't have the 7th Day JWs, the JW Hall of Jehovah, the Apostolic JWs, the JW Baptist Hall, JW Methodist Hall, JW United Methodist Hall, and all that... they are ONE body of believers.  They are united.  They all teach, believe, talk, and do the same thing.  They are consistent.  Pose any question and you'll get the same answer from any of them anywhere in the world.  They are on one accord.

So say what you wanna, but they're doing something right, even if it's for the wrong cause.  Right or wrong, we can definitely learn something from them.

From my understanding, that door-to-door sales tactic isn't necessarily a sign of their commitment, but rather, a requirement...  In other words, I think that they have to meet a quota of some sort.  Love and commitment might be there but the stronger force is coming from the leadership of the Watchtower Society.  They're forced to do it.  That's how they know to stay away from particular homes.  They're logging it all down.  They got to turn this stuff in.  Coersion.  But I may be wrong...

It's a requirement for the ones who participate in the "discipleship" ministry (I don't know what the real name of it is).  It's not a requirement as a member of the organization.

It's kinda like joining the Evangelism Team at your local church and being required to hit the streets at least 8 hours per month.

I just looked it up.  It's called pioneering.  The pioneers are the ones who are required to go door-to-door, much like at my church were the Evangelism Team is required to spend at least 4 hours per month evangelizing, and the intercessors are required to pray for 2 hours per day.

What we all seem to forget is that they are doing their jobs. If more "Christians" went out & witnessed wouldn't our churches grow more? Anybody ever seen a storefront kingdom hall? Just food for thought.

I was talking to someone about this one time.  Although I don't believe what JW's and Mormons preach, I give them credit for getting out and witnessing.  I always see two white boys dressed like ushers on their bikes with their bookbags and helmets riding around trying to pass out literature.

When I was younger, we used to go out and pass out tracts every Sabbath afternoon after church.

This brings me to one of my favorite verses:

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1 Pet. 3:15)

Do we know why we believe what we believe?  Can we prove it using sound biblical tests?  Or can we just say "I don't want to talk to you."  "I'm not interested."  "Those Jehovah's Witnesses (Mormons, Muslims, Catholics, etc...) are way off."  Do we know where they miss the mark biblically?

This is one of my favorite youtube clips.

This guy knows his bible.  Do we as Christians still take time out to memorize scripture?  Or do we just quote the most common cliches from gospel music?

Here's another clip.  A black guy was approached by two white mormons on bike at a fast food joint.  And he began to tear them apart.  It was one of the most unchristlike like things I had ever seen.  I did not see the spirit of Christ in his witness.  It seems as if his motives were more so to just prove them wrong and belittle them than to bring them to the light of truth.

That guy in the second clip is a Black Hebrew Israelite.  I saw him on another clip straight up clowning.  Those cats are another topic altogether.  Of course I'm sure that the two young men assumed that he was lost simply because he was wearing a wave cap.

You will always see more unity behind a false doctrine than you will the truth.  I believe it's because the enemy is not really expending a lot of energy fighting anything that isn't going to lead to life anyway.
