Basically, his mom gave the testimony of how her blood pressure shot up toward the end of her pregnancy with him. She had toxemia, and they had to induce labor. He died at birth, and was dead for 15 minutes. His father asked that they rescusitate him. The doctors said that he would have cerebral palsy and other defects. They said that he wouldn't be a normal child and would be "retarded."
He's deaf and wears two hearing aids but he's an excellent drummer, and apparently, a budding singer. Oh, and he's definitely not mentally or developmentally impaired.
By the way, you may remember the YouTube someone posted a few months ago where Nathan Simmons interrupted his choir at a tent revival and asked for "Sis. Preshana" to come and lead a song. He mentioned that she was doing her best singing since she got pregnant. That's the same lady in this clip and at the time, she was pregnant with Ezra.
