Guitarist needs help interpreting keyboard notation
« on: December 18, 2008, 07:07:44 PM »
Hi,
Your friendly neighborhood gospel guitarist here. I'm trying to figure out how to convert your keyboard notation into chords I can play on the guitar.

For example:
E / Edim -I've had some good
F / EbGAbC---Bb / DGAbC- days
I've had some hills to
Eb / FGBb--Eb climb
EBb / EAbBbEb
E / Edim- I've had some weary
F / EbGAbC---Bb / DGAbC- days
Bb / AbCC#F- And some sleepless
Eb / GCC#F - nights

Could someone please explain what E/Edim means?

As a guitarist it looks soemthing like E major or E dimished

Also what is F / EbGAbC

F major and Eflat something or other?

Thanks for any help.

CJ

Hey man whats up? You should post this in the Guitar room. We have some very smart people in there.

In any case when you see chords written out the way you have them, it means the bass is played on the left hand and the chord is played on the right.

For instance E/E dim means play an E on your left hand and an E dim chord on your right.

Its that simple and i hope it helps.
