Soooo....If he's having his wedding in the church then it's OK to play secular music? What's the difference? You just pretty much said it was a shame before God.
Anyway, on the other hand, some churches may give you a restriction on what you can do during your wedding. If you can't live with that, then it's your prerogative to have your wedding somewhere else.
When my wife and I got married, a lot of church people we knew wanted to have their input. We weren't closed-minded; we listened to what they had to say, but did things the way we wanted to. Some of these people, are now divorced, while my wife and I just had our 12th year! And we STILL feel like newlyweds!
