I have long thought that I didn't have soul.
Not the spiritual "Soul" (cause I know God is my savior and my provider) but the musical "Soul".
You know, that "groove" that the old school delta blues players and a few newer players have.
(They put such expression and feeling in their playing)
I thought that I didn't have this ability because I kept on trying to sound like others I had heard, but I realized that I have my own groove to fulfill. Just like how BB King has his, Casey Hopkins has his own, and John Mayer has his own. (Sorry, I don't know any gospel guitarists....) I felt a lot better once I realized that I have a style of my own and that it's no worse or better than anyone elses.
