dont know what to say

You know, I come across way more anti-digital here that I really am. Sorry for that.

I think there's a place for POD-type stuff, and then there are times you just need a good stomper.

You say that as if you were using your XT with a guitar amp.
If so, BIG mistake unless you're willing to turn off the amp and cab sims and use it strictly as an effects board.
Even then, that's not really the natural purpose of the XT and it's kin.
It's meant to be a replacement for an amp and pedals, not a replacement for just pedals.

And then there's that. I wasn't even thinking about that aspect, but Dave's right. The PODs aren't meant to be used in front of an amp, really--unless you've got a clean power amp, like the Atomic stuff (or you can plug them into your effects return and bypass your amp's pre all together, usually).

yeah, if i'm using mine with an amp it's either into the fx loop or using the 4cable method set up with my od's/stomps hitting the preamp stage of the amp, and the delays/verbs/etc hitting the loop(no amp-modelling there, it's just a virtual pedal board.

if you are going into the front end of the amp using teh amp/cab sims...you'll always be disappointed.

What's your pedal chain?

Also, it could be the power supplies.

Is it a hiss, or a hum?

No idea. I was wondering that recently.

then i guess i should now come in and tell all you cavemen to get rid of your amps forever....Line6 amp modelling is the holy grail of tone. do you listen to your 8-tracks while watching your beta-discs on black & white tv's waiting for your ancient tubes to warm up??

Why, back in the day all we needed was a nickel and an afternoon at the corner picture show theater. We'd get popcorn and a soda and STILL have change left over to buy some gumballs.
And we walked everywhere...and didn't have shoes...and the snow was 10 feet deep...and everything was uphill...and by golly we were proud to do it!

you guys are a lot of fun . ok here it is in from guitar- ernie ball volume-crybaby wah- eq ge 7- metal zone mt2-chorus ce5- digital delay dd6- chromatic tuner tu2- 100/watt fender twin (tube) guitar is 57 strat reissue  all pedals are boss
