I never understood the Burberry craze.  Burberry is a 150+ yr old company, and I knew someone that had a Burberry trenchcoat in the 70's when I was a child.  All of the sudden someone in the hip-hop world says it's cool to wear and black folks go nuts and buy anything khaki-plaid.  That's one trend I never gave into.  As far as being able to tell the real brand, it's all about the layout of the stripes color-wise.  The red may be where the black should be and the white has less sripes on the copy.  That's how the knock-off folks get away with it as it is not a blatant copy.

Basically, if people would stop gravitating towards the knock-offs just to be in style, then these folks wouldn't have a market.  But that human desire to be "in with the in crowd" seems to never cease.

Burberry was only a trend for the hip hop crowd. Tons of people still wear Burberry.

That's what I mean.  It was crazy how hip-hop acted as if this was some new thing when this is a legendary company.  It's a classy company, but some cats chose to wear baggy knock-off Burberry shorts and pants off of their butts because of the trend.  That's why companies don't repsect the Black dollar.  That's why Cristal champagne didn't repsect black folks drinking their product when they started pouring it on the ground and on women in videos for whatever reason.  Although I don't drink alcohol, I am aware that there is a tedious process to making that particular brand and some of these cats want the image associated with it yet insult it at the same time.

The whole point is, if you can't afford it, don't front with a knock-off and think you're impressing somebody.

1. Act fast! I'm leaving next Thursday, and I'm not carrying anything extra on the plane!

2. I think they're like $130, maybe $300. I'm not sure. My wife isn't into those things. Our Bishop's family buys those things up every time they come here. They're definitely not more than $300.

Okay, I'm definitely gonna want a coat.  I'll think about the blankets, but I can do without a blanket if I'm getting a coat.  Factoring in shipping and all that, the blankets won't be worth it.  I'm also gonna ask my sister if she wants one. She's in NY where she can really get good wear out of it, and she loves fur coats as well.

Can you find out where I can look at some so I'll know what I want?  The size is gonna be small, and I want it full-length.  First preference is gray, second choice is black... either way, I'd like a white or black fox trim, if possible, but I can do without the fox trim if you can't find anything like that.  PM me and tell me where to send the money and what I need to do next and all that.  Also, can you give me a ball park of how much shipping will be?  I should've asked that first...  :-\

Happy Belated Birthday to meeeee!!!!!  WoooooHOOOOOOO!!!

Believe me. I'm TOTALLY not balling.  But, I have a personal rule that helps me with my shopping addiction: if I want to spend money from my checking, I have to have at least that amount in my savings.  I definitely have $300 in my savings... lol.

And to be honest (not that this is a good thing), even if I didn't have $300 in my savings, there's no way I'd pass up that kind of deal.  To me, it's a smart buy for someone who loves fur as much as I do.  I've been wanting a full-length since last year.  I don't remember if you were here last year around my birthday, but I bought myself a 3/4 length one when I really wanted a full-length.  Generally, a full-length mink will cost about $5000-$15,000 or even more, depending on the quality.  If I can get one for $300, that's just smart shopping.  :-\ ;D

I consider it an investment.  8)

Yea. There are actually people that come here and buy leather and furs to sell in the USA.

I have my tailor contacts, so when I get to the States, I could still get some suits made.

I tried on a full-length badger coat and that joint was $7000.  I also tried on a 3/4 hooded coyote coat with an asking price of $2500.  I almost went for the coyote, but they have sold those same coats at one of these super sales for about $200-$300 and full-length coyotes for $600 so I'm holding out.  Plus in my area, you just can't rock a fur without worrying about getting busted in the head.  I'm not in the hood hood, but these little thug wannabes roun' here are trying to take it there.

What are you trying to do, wear it to the corner store??

I only wear mine to church or out to dinner with friends, so I'm always relatively safe.  I can't see myself ever (no matter where I am) just walking down the street wearing a full-length fur coat.  It would just feel flashy and I'm not into that...

I might wear it to the store if it's really, really cold.  Church is probably the last place I would want to wear it because you know how some of us are.  I'm the type of person that doesn't like to give "chuuuch folks" ammo.  For now I'm still doing the ole leather 3/4 parka.  I'll get a fur one day.  the nagain, I plan to be living in another area as well when I'm fur-enabled as well.  And I dare a PETA fool to throw paint on me.  I will make the national news if that happens.
