Yes they were.  Beautiful Gretsch New classics.  They sounded so nice and the articulate.  Jerome did use a Ddrum snare though LOL!!! Smiley.  However, if I didn't have a DW I would probably buy a New Classic.  The sound is just amazing and that Sparkle finish is gorgeous!!!  If it's good for Vinnie, it's good enough for me LOL!!!  Take care and God Bless

I figured as much - I could tell by the lug design.  Regarding the New Classic set, Drums2Go had the "Vinnie" for about $1,200 - it was only played at someone's crib and was in pristine condition.  The old owner used Evans' G1 coated for the batter, and just tapping it with my thumb created a nice resonant tone.  It was a well tuned kit.
