I can relate to the sentiments in the first three paragraphs.  I have very little, if any, respect for a parent (male or female) who doesn't take care of his/her responsibilities.  

I can either get with the first sentence in the fourth paragraph... but, ummmm... you calling people "no good" is going a bit too far, IMO.  You don't even know me like that.

I didn't take it wrongly; I took it the way you said it.  But, it's all good.  No hard feelings.

I know FIRSTHAND what it's like to be on the "baby mama" side of things.  My daughter (who is adopted) has two biological deadbeat parents.  Both of them were court-ordered to pay child support and neither of them EVER did.  Not one payment. EVER.  She's 18 now.  Not only did they fail to support her, her bio mother claimed her on her taxes 3 years in a row.  It took the IRS 3 years to catch it, and it took me 5 more years to prove that I had legal guardianship, then custody, then parental rights through adoption of her.  During that period, I had my wages garnished, my bank accounts frozen, my tax returns garnished.  I suffered that and a lot more as a result of raising a deadbeat's child, so trust me, I know all about it.

Nonetheless, deadbeats are human beings that belong to God.  He created the man behind the deadbeat.  If dude repented (and none of us can say whether or not as of 1/22/09 11:58 a.m. EST, he has or has not) then the Lord has forgotten all about it.  Y'all can talk about it all day; that's your right. I'm just not going to get down with that.  Shucks, we can shut this forum down talking about what you did or said or thought yesterday... or even today! ("you" in general, not at anyone in particular, and of course, not to the ones who don't sin at all, ever).

Help with medical bills, make sure he puts his money with hers so she has somewhere to stay with their baby...like duh.

It's like a guy creates a child, and HATES the woman carrying it.  He gets mad because he has to take responsibility.  So he throws all this hate at her.  She has to go on welfare, try to find daycare assistance, drop outta school, GO THROUGH DELIVERY ALONE and all that...he was "man" enough to take her body, but just punk enough to run like a coward...

Im just sayin...Take care of the child's mother because she's carrying, and caring for your seed.  If you care at all about your seed.

The father in this particular situation is responsible for the child and the child alone.  It is not his duty to provide for "quality or life" expenses for the mother...only in situations of divorce.  Don't fail to realize that she laid down with him as well...there was no rape here.  So, she knew that if she made this decision that she would have to "step up" as well.  So, we cannot hold him liable and not her simply because she is the mother.

You know what, though, I see where AF is coming from.   It's not because she is the mother, but the fact of the matter is, that when the child lives with you, you by default have to make the majority of the sacrifices.  Couple that with the fact that his legitimate children have a certain standard of living of which this child has been deprived.  A lot of deadbeat dads complain because they are so afraid the child's mother will benefit minutely from what they pay, but SO DOGGONE WHAT!  If she lays her head in a nicer place so his child can live in a safe and comfortable place, then I say so be it.

If he was participating in the child's life and had like a joint custody thing going, then he would probably pay less, because his share would only be some calculation of the difference of his income over hers pro-rated for the portion of time she has the child, but since he chooses not to be a father to this child, and no one can force him to do that, then he can compensate his child AND the mother for having to raise him alone.
