Have you ever had a sunday that you didnt feel like doing Praise and Worship if so what did you do about it

my last question how do you handle people that come up to you on the praise team and tell you they dont feel like singing and you ask why and they say cause there not in the mood

Then they can sit down for a few weeks, Talk to a church counseler, and maybe they'll be in the mood then.

They made a comitment to be a part of ministry, so they should honor that comitment. If they are sick, then thats one thing. If they wanna take a day off, then they should let you know in advance. But if they just arent in the mood, then maybe thats a spiritual problem. Have they properly prepared to serve that day? Have they took the time to pray and have private worship time before serving? Maybe thats the problem.

Today I really didnt wanna stay for evening service (which I usually dont).I was tired, and had already played for two services that day,  but the MOM told me to stay, and I made a comitment to them, so I stayed. (thank God a didnt fall asleep) :D

Praise is not a mood...worship is not just a feeling.
These people need loving encouragement - but often it's a tactic of the Enemy of our souls to attack peoples' minds and feelings...

Led P&W anyway.  ;)

For the last part, you remind them that it's not about their mood or how they feel; that's the sacrifice of praise.

Now, you LOVINGLY remind them of this; but, remind them nonetheless.

How do you do it, lovingly? Ask them about their morning; their weekend; their week. Sometimes, talking about it and then speaking a word of life to them can make the difference.
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

Sometimes I feel that way, but I do it anyway. The enemy will attack the praise & worship team first because praise & worship sets the tone for the service. Faced with that problem, I told the person that reguardless how she felt, I need her to do praise & worshsip
anyway. After P & W her whole attitude had changed from negitive to positive, and she was in a good mood throughout the service. Sometimes people need encouragement. We don't know what they've gone through before they got to church. Do what you can to encourage that person.

A couple of sundays ago, our praise leader was handling some business & couldn't start the service, so my pastor sees me and tells me to open the service. I was a little caught off guard, but I got up there anyway. About thirty seconds into the 1st song my pastor told me, "pick it up!" I didn't mind singing, but it kind of got to me when he told me to pick the song up.

I wouldnt have let that get to me. As a musician I look to the pastor in order to find out which way he wants me to go with the music. So when I'm playing behind him, I always keep my eye on him (or whoever is leading)and look out for hand gestures, changes in the way he is talking etc, and that lets me know where to go.

I have those Sundays.  I normally pray that God will have His Way.  Most of the times, I realize this is just me being tired, or frustrated, a response of the flesh.  Once I pray for God to have His Way, I move on with Praise and Worship.  Amazing how God rewards our obedience with the result.

This post was actually encouraging to me.

I was just in that state of not wanting to go to church, not wanting to sing, ended up not even going to church last Sunday, and was on the verge of quitting the P&W team. So, yeah this was encouraging!

well, ask them if the Lord was in the mood to die for them? Ask them if He was in the mood to let them get up this morning. To me, being in a group in your church is a commitment and a honor. I have a youth praise and head of the youth department. Of course, me being a sweet person, I say this: If you don't want to participate sit down, get off the stage, because your heart ain't in it and fake just ain't gone get it.I give them that choice. But it is a privilege and an honor to serve in a praise team. Why would you not be in the mood to praise God?
If you ask me, those people are to fleshy minded and not spiritual minded. What do you come to service for? To worship God, To fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ, to receive a word from the Lord.

I'd ask "Oh ok...so when you're in need of a blessing, what if God said.."uh,..I'm just not in the mood"...and you were really in need of a blessing. OMG....you'd be stuck out.

However, if they just CANNOT check their attitude, your spirit is not welcomed nor wanted. So yeah, you may need to have a seat otherwise be held responsible for possible hinderances in the praise and worship..but keep in mind that this can't be a repeatative thing. You're either committed or you're not... ;D
Prayer is the key ;-)

The bible says 2Co 5:7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight)....so, that tells me I don't omit a Worship session just because I don't FEEL like it.  If that was the case, then what's faith for?  So you may have to tell yourself and your team TODAY THOUGH WE MAY NOT FEEL LIKE WORSHIPPING, WE DON'T WALK BY THOSE FEELINGS, TODAY WE ARE IN FAITH!  :D
