New Recording Software........
« on: November 16, 2008, 11:03:08 PM »
It's a program called Reaper.  From my understanding they are loosely connected to OpenLabs.

My best friend just called me raving about it as he has it.  He said it is knocking everybody out of the box, and he pretty much has everything as he runs a studio.  Seems like they named it "Reaper" because they know it's gonna kill all of the other companies.  This may become the new ProTools.

They even allow a free download of the full program for an "evaluation period."  They also have a forum where you can critique it and make suggestions.  The price($225) is incredible considering it compares to all of the current big boys.  Read up on it and you will see.  If I try it and like it, I will be retiring Cubase SX, my current program.

NP.  My best friend called me twice yesterday still raving about all that he is finding.  They don't need to advertise, my best friend will take care of that.

Is it me or does this look a lot like Sonar?   Looks cool and powerful.  As for me, I'm sticking with Pro Tools seeing as it was a sizable investment and I'm somewhat partial to staying on the Mac platform.
