What Ya'll Think About This????
« on: February 09, 2009, 02:02:04 AM »
What do ya'll think about the choir singing the same lineup as they did the previous Sunday? We just had this problem in choir rehearsal, the music ministry is just so unorganized, which is why I have recently quit, and every time I say ok let me start over, it's like they show me something new, which is not so good. The directors of the choir have a problem with the choir having opinions and they call opinionating themselves going against the authority of the choir.

There's nothing wrong with having and opinion and voicing it, but after everyone has said their piece, whoever has the authority should make the final call and everyone should fall in line whether they like it or not.

We sing a LOT of songs on a sunday.   Some will be repeats and some will not.    The song that is sung before the pastor preaches is different every week.   But with 7 - 10 songs every week,   we definitely will repeat some.   We will change the entire rotation every month however.

What do ya'll think about the choir singing the same lineup as they did the previous Sunday?

If there was no rehearsal prior to that Sunday and it absolutely has to be done then I don't see a problem with it.

We don't sing a lot of songs at my church. And, even when I was at different churches, singing the same song week in and week out can get on my nerves after a minute.

There's only one song that we do every week for "Meet and Greet". And, it's starting to wear on me, just a bit.  ::) :-\

:D I knew someone would be.

It's, 'Great Praise' by Stephen Hurd. My pastor LOVES that song and that CD. The church loves the song, as well; so do I; I just need us to do something different, now.  :-\

We also sing "sweet hour of prayer", and I 'm getting tired of it.

But as for repeating songs frequently, our MOM aint havin that.
