I think Mr. Brown is hilarious.  He is a fresh departation from anything that I consider reality which is why he is so funny.  The way he talks and those clothes...man, he could just walk across the screen and I'd get a good chuckle.

I have to say, however, the Madea goes to Jail was very, very bad to me.  To talk about it would give away the movie to those who haven't gone to see it.  Most of Tyler's stage plays don't transfer weel to the big screen to me.  His best movie to me so far is The Family that Preys which, if I am right, wasn't originally a stage play.

I agree.
When you've seen the plays, it's hard for it to be as good when watching it on screen. Things don't come across the same. Plus you're missing crucial people that help "make" the scenes in the plays. I like the movies but I always go back to the plays. The plays are so funny. Like "The Diary of a Mad Black Woman"....it was ok, it could have been better. I don't think she was as mad as a black women really could have gotten....that's all I got to say about that, LOL!

I think he's funny.  I would say I have this view primarily because one of the things he's known for is messing up words, and my dad does this all the time!  So when I see Mr. Brown, parts of his character remind me of my dad.

However, I have friends though who think that Mr. Brown's humor gets tiring after a while.  Like, it's the same thing over and over again.

I see that, but I still think he's funny.  I actually like him more than Madea.

I'm not uncomfortable with Mr.Brown's character. I find him to be hilarious. Hooooowever, his character does become annoying at times. And as long as folks are supporting Tyler, Mr.Brown aint goin' no where! LOL  :P

I'm not uncomfortable with the character, it's just that well, he gets a little predictable. I mean, the toupee schtick, the loud clothes, tight pants, shouting at a step show, lol, well, that shouting at the step show bit was kind of funny. I'm ok with Brown in moderation. I even bought that "Church with Mr. Brown" CD, good singing by David Mann, along with some funny tracks. Though I haven't listened to it in a while. I bought it for my dad and it's been absorbed into his vast CD collection, perhaps never to see the light of day again, lol.

Sometimes I get the feeling that "we" can be a bit sensitive about certain things.  I don't really get into Tyler Perry's shows but somebody is spending money on them and he seems to have no problems getting ad sponsors.

I dont really care for him either. But "Daddy's Little Girls" was very good, though I'm pretty sure I read that exact story in a book a while back

He made $125,000,000 last year, so I doubt he's gonna change anything even if a few  are uncomfortable. lol

As a business man, I applaud him.  He has his own movie studio so he is in a position to help out up and coming filmmakers that wouldn't normally get a foot in the door.
