Chris Dave Trio Part II
« on: March 25, 2009, 03:43:55 AM »
I stumbled across this video and couldn't stop watching it.  I was drawn to the clip because I was doing some digging for Chris Dave clips.  I kept watching it because of the bass player.  This guy's technique is EXTREMELY unothodox.

This video is hard too.  Check out sax man.  He's READING the tune and doing a remarkably great job considering that he's playing in a trio with the Incredible Hulk on bass, and Wolverine on drums!

On a side note, wouldn't it be crazy if fLaT had this trio as a part of the bass shed DVD?  I'd probably cry if that happened. :'(

It appears that this bass player, Foley, is a drummer for George Clinton as well! Follow the YouTube trail.

I peeped it.  He also used to play bass with Miles Davis' later bands.

...if it's him then that's the guy Dennis Chambers talks about on "In the Pocket".  He the guy that he learned those quick doubles on the right foot from.
