Bass Xtender Key

How do you or I use a "D" tuner?? is it only when I'm making a bassline on the "E/D" string??? when doing a scale i notice the notes will be off.. help please/////.... ?/?

As far as I can tell, the D-tuner makes the open E string into an open D string (a whole step down). And yes, playing scales from that string would be off because the other strings would not be correspondingly dropped a whole step.

However, one possible (and potentially confusing) fix is that, on any major scale for which the "1" is on the dropped E string, the "2" is now both 2 frets down on the same string AND 1 string up from the "1" on the A string.

If you think that is confusing, them you all need to see and hear Reggie Parker.  He plays his four string bass with a Hip Shot tuned to B!!  So think about how he does scales.  He's not just off by a whole step, he's off by 2 and a half steps.  Reggie is so underated, check this out to see what I'm talking about...

very cool;so where is this clip from? would like to have it.Where are the horns? played on keys then over dubbed;or is it the Kurzweil?
