How Music Works Documentary
« on: May 15, 2009, 11:20:40 AM »
There is a documentary that's been posted on Youtube named "How Music Works"
I found it very interesting, although its very academic at times when covering the long history of music and theory, I wanted to share.

He covers, the History of Harmony, Melody, very well, and spends about an hour on each topic.

I am watching the Part 4 - "BASS" as we speak, and then on to rhythm..

Check it out... www.youtube.com/profile?user=timegrinder&view=videos

No problem... Just FYI, if you just can't make it through the history of the Bass, pick it up around Part 4, where he moves into jazz lines, and early motown...

I'm outta school for the summer, my girl is outta town so i have nothing better to do than to watch the whole thing. Besides in the words of victor wooten a good musician listens (or learns about) all facets of music.
you got to hear numbers

No Doubt... I have looked at all of the videos, except for the Rhythm ones, I wanted to wait until I could give it my undivided attention.
