Switching Sections

I need yall help on this one. One of my best sopranos came to me saying that after her surgery she's unable to sing her section as comfortably as she used to. Her range and overall vocal strength is great. She asked if I could move her to alto. If I do it then I think I will need to move one of my lower toned altos to tenor. My tenor section is mostly older ladies and they're kind of weak in sound so they could use the help.
I've heard stories, myths that this can damage your voice. If you?re able to do mulit-section shouldn?t it be ok. Is this true? If so please explain.
Thanks

The only thing that does damage to one's voice is over-use or singing
out
of one's range.
If a person can sing in a different range, I don't see a problem.

If she is uncomfortable singing high without strain after her surgery, let her move down, for her vocal health. Lots of people's ranges settle down a few notes as they age...

I didnt want to ask lol, but I have noticed a decrease in her volume. All my sopranos have pretty high range but I used to be able o recognize her voice cut through everyone else's
