« on: May 29, 2009, 11:24:36 AM »
Hello Everyone,

I have been having alot trouble when comes to playing gospel i was wondering if some would help me learn how to play gospel, every thing from theory to play for someone when they backround music at church.
I am in choir and i play keyboard. My chords, style do not match what the other keyboard players are playing.

Question(s): Have you asked any of the other keyboardists to help you? Do yall practice together so that everyone blends their sounds?

Well if you sing in the choir, then you should have some type of idea to what gospel and churchy chords sound like...... Then, start letting your fingers loose when you are playing slower songs. If you just play the chords straight, it won't sound as good.

I look at it like dominos. Once you hit the first one, then the rest neatly fall down in a nice neat order. But if you just throw a pillow on top of them to knock them down, what fun is that? So if you let your fingers fall the same way a set of dominoes would, it'll sound alot better. Hope that helps!

PS, Oh, and read all those links that are posted here too!
