Constantly Paranoid...

Do you know somebody like that? It's annoying   I'm cool with a person like this and I work with one. Somebody can be way across the room and just because they made eye contact, it's like "OMG, she's talkin about me, I knew she didn't like me!!" or "Erin, do you think I should move to a different department, they're always looking at me"  I'm like what the heck is wrong with you? She goes "You think I'm joking, they're out to get me"  I'm mean taking your stuff home everyday for fear of getting laid off or fired is a bit ridiculous

It's funny too, but I mean chick goes super overboard and will drive herself crazy about the dumbest things and be like You know I gotta watch my back girl I just laugh or sometimes I get stern with her like Chile will you please knock it off, you're getting ridiculous

Are you guilty of this or do you know someone?

This thread isn't secretly about me, is it? Why didn't you give a name? It's about me, isn't it? You just didn't refer to my name because you didn't want me to know it was about me? Why are you talking about me? I knew you didn't like me? Why are all the eyes in these pictures in this room following me? Is their a ghost? Why did the mailman come 5 minutes late today? Was he packaging a bomb? OMG, someone's trying to kill me!!

People say I'm paranoid and I halfway agree with them.  The other half is just me knowing the people that I'm around well enough to second guess their next move.  Usually I'm right.  There have been times where someone over me would ask me about something and I'd have to tell them the truth and they'd be like, "well why do you think that's going to happen?"  Now I could tell them xyz true story about so and so and how they act when the person I'm talking to is not around, but that's not classy at all.  So I opt for people thinking I'm paranoid.  I hate that option, but either I lie to the person in the first place and get in trouble or I opt for being considered paranoid. 

There have been situations where I have had to tell why I thought what I thought and that person would go up to the person I was talking about and ask them about the situation.  Remember we're talking about what I think may happen based on what I know about the person and what I see them doing.  Well now that so and so knows what I know of COURSE they're not going to continue with that plan!  Duh!  Why not just wait and see if it happens then if it doesn't come to me like, "Well, well Koda.  It didn't happen now did it?"

BW, yeah, I know someone like that, although she's not as bad a case as the person you mentioned.  It's still very annoying, though.  She internalizes EVERYTHING and that drives me nuts.  If I say, "whew, it's so hot out here," she'll say something dumb like, "oh, I'm sorry. I should've told you what the temperature was before we left...  I wasn't thinking.  I'm so sorry..."

She thinks EVERYTHING is about her, and she always thinks people are talking about her.  If we're around a bunch of acquaintances, and people are chatting or whatever, inevitably, someone will laugh... she'll stop what she's doing, high tail it over to the area where the laughter came from, and say, "what'd s/he say about me???"

If somebody got an award she be like "How come I didn't get, they seen me pick up a piece of paper that wasn't even mine"  or if somebody comes speak to me and not her, after they leave she'll be like "Erin, what was that about" Like   ummm, they never speak to you sooooo what are you talking about? then she'll say "Exactly" give me the sly eye then say "You know what I'm talkin about, they speak to you on purpose because I'm here"  I'm like chick I hate to burst your bubble, but you are NOT that important
