Era of Gameshows over???
« on: June 17, 2009, 04:39:43 PM »
A few minutes I was reflecting on living back in the day when Family Feud, The Price Is Right, and other gameshows use to rock the airwaves and be a major type of programming on (talking about late 1980s and 1990s).

I'm only 22 and maybe this is just me but I don't feel like game shows are as popular as they've been in the past. It seems like game shows are almost a thing of the past.

What do you all think?

They should find something else to call reality shows.  It's all about selecting "certain" people, scripting the situations and of course, the editing.

I like it too. I'm always so nervous! LOL.

The Price is Right was my show. I love Plinko!

Plinko ROCKS!!!!

But, I don't watch game shows at all (except Jeopardy on occasion).  I do have a few favorites that I'd watch if every single channel was broken except the Game Show Network... lol.

I love Jeopardy, Family Feud, Whose Line is it Anyway, and The Newlywed Game.

I like Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be..., Price is Right, Pyramid, Name that Tune, Press Your Luck.

I'm a sucker for "reality" shows, though.  No matter how dumb it is, if I somehow end up watching it one time, I'm pretty much hooked until the finale.
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

I miss Press Your Luck, though. Loved this guy: :D

They are about gone.  I liked the singing bee show.  I grew up watching the price is right especially during the summers when school was out.
