Percussion Pads/Midi Controllers

wassup everybody,
My band does several songs that increasingly have the need for certain sounds in tracks and im thinking about gettin a pad but I dont have any idea on what to get of if i should just get a midi pad and use my laptop as the sound module?? Any suggestions on what brands or type of pads to get ?? ?/? ?/? ?/? ?/? ?/? ?/? ?/?

my advice is be costwise and the it must be expandable, meaning you can get nice stuff price wise but you limited to only sounds. Roland and alesis on the other hand have changed that up a bit, for instance alesis has a module that allows you use ure pc or laptop as the sound module. roland has that capability but it takes it the extra step set ups, sounds, triggering and so much more is unbelievable. so do your research

The industry standard currently is the Roland SPD-S sampler pad.

If you decide to go with triggers then DDRUM Reds or Rolands connected to your choice of brains or laptops running Ableton Live or other program.

cherri and sabian knight hit it right on the money, roland fo show and do mean for show but not tell, rolands sound bank is like standing in heavan waiting to get in the gate

Roland SPD-S is the best choice because you can sample your own sounds.
