SMH!!!  This case taught me to never jump on a bandwagon when an alarming racially polarizing news report comes down the pipe.  Just wait, because the facts are almost always less sensational and may be not at all what was represented.  Folks was ready to lynch those Duke players.

I probably would've been on the bandwagon if Al Sharpton wasn't driving it. But I learned from Tawana Brawley's case to run the other way when I see Al leading a protest.

For some reason, I didn't believe that girl anyway.

IRT the stories, I do feel really bad for her. She needs help.

I feel the same way about Al Sharpton. For some reason, when a stripper yells rape...I don't believe it. ::) :-\
This is a sad story but maybe jail is the best thing for her. Maybe that'll save her from herself...*shrug*

Strippers and hookers can be, and are raped.  This particular stripper makes it hard for those ladies.  I don't agree with their profession, but I don't condone them being abused without anyone caring because of their profession.

That's true but you and I both know that their profession pretty much eliminates what they say about being raped. People just aren't going to think much of it and I can't blame em. I don't want anyone getting abused either...but you can't put yourself in harms way and expect to be treated right. I used to be in this profession so I know first hand...unfortunately. :-[ :-[ :-[

I know we may have a hard time sorting out who is telling the truth, but it does something to me to see a person get blown off like that.  That tells predators, like the one on the loose in NY killing girls, that this particular population can be misused and harmed and no one will care.  I look at our innocent little girls even in the church getting involved with the wrong people and the wrong situations.  Sometimes those things spiral into them being on the streets far from home.  I couldn't even imagine if one them was to be beaten, raped, or even killed on top of what they were already into.

Someones killing women in NY? WoW I haven't heard about that. I usually always keep up with the news but I haven't lately. That's sad. You remember the Green River Killer....he killed 48 prostitutes before he finally got caught.

I'll just say that I couldn't disagree with you more.  :-\

Anyone who has sexual intercourse unknowingly and/or unwillingly is raped, regardless of their profession, reputation, attire, location, prior consent, relationship to the rapist, sobriety (or lack thereof), age, or mental state.

Hey I just said how I felt about it. I was molested as a child and became a prostitute soon there-after so I know how it is. I still feel that I should have had my behind home...like I should have been. If you're raped call the police but even the cops won't take you very seriously if you're standing on the corner selling yourself. Personal experience means alot my friend.

I'm going to go out on a limb here... I think Chevonee was referring to the general publics perception of the situation and how it would be handled, and how they're really putting themselves at risk for working in such a profession. From first-hand experience. Also, wow, I really respect you, Chevonee, for where you've come from.
That's exactly what I meant. I didn't have sense enough to put it in those words. My past is shameful but I thank God that I'm able to help other young sisters overcome. I was a MESS!! But God brought me out...GOD DID IT!!

She stabbed her live in boyfriend to death and got the Duke LaCrosse team and players in trouble. She has got a mental problem. Then you have got Al Sharpton who is Obama's pal now leading mess in the mix. The Twana Brawley mess and this girls mess. Jessie Jackson saying he wanted to castrate Obama for talking down to black people. How sick are these people?
