She would've been better off just breaking down, mid-song and walking off saying "I'm sorry; I just can't do this...."
She really sounded horrible.
But, with that said, I'm gonna come up off her now. I'm starting to feel a little bad for talking about her. On her worst day, she still sounds better than me, so...
On another note:
Another observation I made: how come nobody is playing the Usher clips? I watched CNN all night last night, as usual, and saw EVERYBODY's tributes at least 4-6 times each... Usher? I saw him for about 5 seconds on Larry King. What's up with that? His was one of the best, and certainly one of the most touching.
Oh, and I definitely DON'T THINK Paris's tribute was scripted. Not at all. That thought didn't even cross my mind.
Barbara Walters was doing a special when I got home on ABC last night, and they played the usher joint from when he started walking to come down on the floor 'til the end, and then they played clips of it a couple more times. Some of those highlights had me cryin' all over again. During Barbara's interview with Stevie, she asked him to sing, "I Just Called to Say..." idk the real title, but Lawd I was bawlin! It was broken up by her joining in for the chorus, but who could blame her? I woulda did the same thing, LOL!
