I think A7#5#9 is the common name of that chord, if you take out that Eb.

I use this chord, but not as a 1 chord.

Am I missing something?

Db  F  G(Abb)  C   Eb  A(Bbb)
1   3   b5        M7  9    b13

I usually use that A7#5#9 to start a 3-6 progression in F. But in this context I add the 9(Eb) and use it as a inverted 1 chord of Db that I purposely start on the (A)b13. The following is a chord progression in which I incorporate the chord for the song "Thank you Lord".

(1)  Thank    A Db Eb/ G C F
(and)
(2)           A Db Eb/ G C F
(and)         Bb D E/ Ab Db Gb
(3)  You      Bb E / A D Gb
(and)
(4)           Bb E / A D Gb
(and)         A Eb / Ab Db F
(1)  Lord     Bb F/ A C D F

So, are u trying to use this as a 1 chord in the key of Db? If so, it sounds terrible IMO.

Doesn't even look like you have the melody note in there.

At any rate, I'm all for dissonant chords, you just have to use the melody in there somewhere, or it will sound unstable.

I'm not near a board, but I'll try your chords out when I get home tonight. I think I found one use extra use, while playing around with it last night, but I don't remember if it was on the 1.

:Dlol! I know it looks wierd but it sounds great to me! I actually recorded myself playing with it last night. I played the chord progression on the 3rd "Thank you lord". I did that to establish the melody and structure of the song to the listner.
Thank you lord,
Thank you lord,
Thank you lord, <--------------- right here.
I just want to thank you lord.

I would love to hear your recording of it man. Maybe that would clear up some things.

If that's the case, then that's how I use it. But I would say that it's still not a 1 chord. I usually do it on the 3 or 6, sometimes I'll put it in other places. I'm going to see if I can check it out tonight.

OK. I tried it out. Although, I wouldn't play it like that--and still had to drop that extra note--I can hear it a bit.

I would do something like this, between "thank" and "you".

A-Db / G-C-F
Bb-D / Ab-Db-Gb
A-Db / G-C-F
G-B / F-Bb-Eb
A-Db / G-C-F

then

C-G-Eb / F-Bb-Eb on "you".

Yes that is well beyond my scope of playing and comprehension.
