Signed up for lessons with the bassist for a group called Dimension. He plays 4-5-6 strings and can play various genres including fusion/funk.
I contacted several potential instructors, but I didn't like their approach to teaching... and when I asked them if they could slap they would say "uh... a little bit". I don't want to do fingerstyle only and wanted an well-rounded instructor (technique wise) that can expose me to different genres.
Tatoos and all, the guy struck me as very humble and amiable and I'm looking forward to start lessons with him.
