YES!!! I am currently playing at Holy Calling Ministries COGIC, and THEY are looking for a musician. I only agreed to assume the position until they found somebody because I don't really like playing...it's just something I do from time to time. If you are more committed to it, just let me know and I can arrange for you to come to our next rehearsal and meet the Pastor. They don't have a choir, just a 4 or 5 member praise team. They are a rather small congregation, but they are COGIC so you never know what doors may open for you as a musician, especially if you also write. Convocation is a little more than a month away, so you'll be getting in the door just in time and I can go back to "whatever it is that I do" at my church (or wherever). I agreed to help indefinitely as they had been searching for a long time before they got me. I don't mind helping but I am not full-time musician material. This coming Sunday will be the first time I go with them to an afternoon engagement and I've been told that this church has an awesome musician. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO for fear of being shown up - not that I do what I do for competition, but I do want to be good at what I do when I do it, you know?
So every day after 5pm when I get off work will be practice time for me! God forbid that someone will do something at the "spur of the moment" in a key that I don't know! Whew!
