Ok, I gotta represent for my people in NY... (this was one of the first tapes I bought when I first got saved...  I remember jamming to this in my Sony Walkman on the youth department bus trips...)  ;D :D

I know y'all young'uns don't know nothing about Myrna Summers and Timothy Wright, "Send Me, I'll Go"

You keep tellin' on yaself (int).  ;) :D

Oh yes she is. I was thinking the same thing  ;D ;D

Shout out to the late great J.C.  We still sing these songs when I go back to my Father-in-Law's Church.  If they call me up to lead praise/testimony service, these two may be among the songs sang with little modern twist on Can't nobody do me like Jesus.  We don't touch God has smiled on me.  It's sang basically the same as back then.

Ok, this one is a quadruple win! It's a hot flashback, plus, it's led by one of the most legendary lead vocalists of our time, and on top of that, it's got a great choir and music!!!

Tina SLAYS 'em on "You Didn't Give Up on Me" from Milton Brunson & The Tommie's "Open Our Eyes" CD.

Now, I was trying to be cool about it but Tina Watson's sister plays organ for our church (she don't sound like her though, she has a more deep alto voice a`la the lady on 'Oh Happy Day') but Tina stopped by about a month ago and ripped 'I have the faith' up to shreds!

Dude, I've never been a "huge" Tina fan, only because I tend to prefer alto leads, but I have been on a Tina (and Milton Brunson/Tommies) kick all weekend long.  I literally stayed in my room ALLLLLLL day Saturday listening to MB & The Tommies, mostly the Tina or Kim songs.  That Tina is just a SopranoBEAST!!!!

And btw, grab a pen.  I need you to know this, Oh Young'un... The lady who leads "Oh Happy Day" is my play godmother, Mother Shirley Miller.  :)

Amen Amen and Amen!!!! Thank you soooooo much for posting this one.  I've been seaching for this song for years ever since the Technology Demon attacked my music. (They stopped selling cassette tapes & I didn't get into CD's until some years later, hate em).   I once had my little tapes with all my favorites and it was such a blessing.  It's coming back together now. You just posted #1 on my most wanted list.  This song along with "Having You There Made The Difference - Miss. Mass,  "I've been redeemed" - LA Mass Choir, have ment the most to me in my little saved/sanctified life Hallelujah!!!!!!

Duuuuuuuude!!!!!!!!!!!!  Now THAT'S a flashback!!! That used to be my favorite song back in the day.  I still know the entire monologue by heart (or whatever you call that spoken part at the beginning...)  I love that lady's voice! The drama... Ooooh, I gotta find that!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
Whom the Lord hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy
Who was the enemy?
Death eternal
Ever falling into a bottomless pit of hell
But God's only Son said, "Father, prepare me a body.  I'll redeem man back to you."
So he took of his glory robe, put on human flesh
Bled, died, rose
Proclaiming victory over death!
Proclaiming victory over death, hell and the grave.
Now we have life.
Forever.
Redeemed.

I know its not friday, but I have all these new cds I've bought and have been listening to and they are GREAT, but I hit shuffle on the ole Ipod, and WHOOO!!! Got a wonderful flashback, and had to listen to the whole album.

Tessie Hill!  Ya'll don't know bout that. I loved that lady growing up! I heard she has a few albums that have come out since 2000.

From what decade is this song, Brudda?

I get the feeling I'm about to knock you over the head and return you to page one for the rules.
