As a child of the Baptist Church, this song was a staple back in the day.  Listening and looking back on those warm innocent times of a day gone by.

I fell in love with this group a long time ago.  They were playing this kind when I first got saved in the early 90's.  Unfortunately they only made 2 albums to my knowledge.  :(

25 years ago, a song came out that some consider a hymn of the black church. The song says, "Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him, Jesus blessed Savior, He's worthy to be praised!

"God Is" (1979)- Rev. James Cleveland

My mom's home church did this song at our revival a few weeks ago. Our senior choir is going to do this song for anniversary.

John P. Kee took me back with this one. This is one of those songs you sing when the Pastor calls for the choir to give an impromptu selection before the sermon, and it ends up DUMPING the place.

Oh yeah, I have heard this one. Don't like it bc it's so doggone slow.... the original isn't this slow. >:(

Bass is killing though.

Yeah, I didn't like this version either, but I couldn't find the recorded version on Youtube. I've darn near broke my finger hitting the repeat button on that one and "Nobody Like Him".

Nobody Like Him is my #1 favorite JH song of all time. It's hard to pick one because he has so many, but NLH is my #1.

The M.O.M. sent me this song this morning to learn for the choir. I opened it just to get the basics of it, and messed around and went IN!!!!! I know it's cliche, but they just don't write 'em like this anymore.

We've been kicking around the idea of having a throwback choir day... I think it's going to be dope if we end up doing it.  I love the old school choir songs.

Those songs are magical. I just don't understand how we progress as a society, yet our productions get worse. They did MORE with LESS.
