I didnt even watch the whole thing because i already could tell what this was about from the first two minutes.

You still have a chip on your shoulder from the Mendoza video. This would be you proving that you could teach someone 5 licks in ten minutes.

Great

You gave some people a crash course on 5 licks that you cant even perform to a clean and consistent manner. there were so many mess-ups in the video of YOU trying to play your own licks.

All it does is show your lack of patience and lack of attention to detail. not to mention LAZINESS.

I would never set out to put myself infront of the computers of millions and not have whatever im explaining perfected. The fact that on one of the licks you couldnt even play it slow shows the fact that you have yet to truly internalize the lick itself.

Its a nice effort on your part im sure some people out there will learn and grow from it but for the most part none will.

Mendoza took 10 minutes because he first taught a PRINCIPLE. then a CONCEPT. then an APPLICATION.

All you showed was an application and the people dont grow just from knowing the application they grow from understanding the principle and the concept so that they can go out and make it their own.

in other words you just went out and said throw your rod in the water and wait for a fish to bite.

you didnt explain the better times to go fishing. nor did you explain the types of bait to use, heck you didnt even explain to use the bait.

THAT is why he took ten minutes to explain one lick. Get your head out your butt and grow up.

It's hard to believe that you were just "practicing" when you were clearly counting the licks you were doing. It seems that you were trying to make a point, but instead made our point more clear. As drumzalicious said, Principle,Concept, Application.

What is the point of posting a video of you doing licks if you're not going to explain them? Some of us understand what you're doing on the kit. But, there are others that don't. We're all here to learn. No need to try to impress anybody (especially over the internet).

I enjoyed some of the licks. They could have been explained better, and you could've looked a bit more enthused...but whatever.  Try getting a solid grasp on 2 or 3 licks, and be able to play them fast and slow with a click or some type of count up front. It'll make more sense to the inexperienced viewers
