I don't see anything about incentives.
Whenever there is guaranteed money vs what the entire contract is worth, there always incentives involved. Guaranteed money is not the same as a signing bonus. Plus they don't have to tell us everything. They're not just going to give him $100+ million to just show up.
When Albert Haynesworth was with the Titans, his contract was based upon numbers as fickle a percentages of snaps, tackles, and all types of stuff to give the front office ammo to nitpick when it was time for a long-term deal which is what he sought. He played hurt until he couldn't play anymore to meet those incentives. the Titans used it agaisnt him, and he bounced on the first thing smoking. Believe you me, the Titans front office has taught me a lot about contracts, especially extensions and long-term deals. NY is a whole different crew, but I'm sure they look out for their own pockets first just like any other team despite what they present to the public.
