I like to throw in octaves in here and there in the slow song... just make sure to stay on beat and or form a pattern or it'll sound....,. odd...
if you ont know how to find an octave... here it is...
pick a not anywhere on the neck... hold that note with 1 finger.. with another finger, go up (higher in pitch) 2 frets and down 2 string...
say your finding an "E" octave... Go to the "D" string and play "E" open, then "D" 3rd Fret... Theres an E octave...
Thats the best way I can explain it (sorry if I explain it oddly)
But thats what I usually do on slow songs...
