There's an older lady in my church that stills gets a Jheri curl.

Sometimes when she's sitting in front of me I just look at it. I can't believe I use to get one back in the day. I don't know how I dealt with all that moisture, LOL.

I would post one of my pics from the Jheri curl days....but I dare not! LOLOLO :D :D :D
I can identify.  I had one in Jr. High... UGH!!! The white kids did NOT understand, lol.

Sistagurl...we must be from the same era.  I ROCKED a jheri curl down past my shoulders back in da day!! :P ::)

Been there, lol.

How many collars did ya mess up??? LOL
And the break outs... :-\

Then when I decided to get rid of the curl they had to cut it and I had to start growning it all over.

OMG this thread turned out to be hilarious!!! LOL!!!

I never had a jheri curl, but I cried real tears when my mom insisted I couldn't have one.  I threatened to run away from home when she said "no" to the wave nouveau (sp?).  Oh how I wanted that wave nouveau...

I will pay cash to see Nessa, Sistagurl and LadyWiz's pics from their jc days! LOL!!!

LOL true

A friend of mine had the wave nouveau. I was so jealous.
For some dumb reason you couldn't convert the jheri to a nouveau. I wanted one so bad. You could either have it wet or dry. Man, I wanted a wave nouveau..

I meant to respond to your question u13 and my finger slipped, lol.

But yes guys still get scurls. You don't have to use all the activator. It's not a messy...

S curl is the tighter, dryer version of the jheri curl... and it's not bad on guys, but if I were a guy and wanted to do something with my hair, I'd texturize.  I love guys with texturizers.

Well, I prefer guys that don't NEED texturizers... lol.  But, you know what I mean...

Lady Wiz/Nessa... Please!!! I'll double my price!!!

The easiest way is to make it your avatar for a few hours.  That way, you can just take it down and it's good and gone (unless some weird stalker saves it to their hard drive, which has happened to me once or twice on LGM...  ::)).

Or you can upload to photobucket (or some other photo sharing site), copy the url for it, click on the image icon here (underneath the "italics" button) and paste the url.  Then hit "post."  ;D

Yeah, I'm growing my hair out now. I'm gonna try to get natural curls, but my texture might be a little too nappy, so if they dont look good I'll get a kit.

And yeah, I know what you mean  ::)  :D

Using any type of chemical on your hair can be hurtful. Your hair can be damaged beyond repair. It doesn't always grow back. Hair means a lot to most women.
