Beaters
« on: September 21, 2009, 02:26:20 PM »
Nah I ain talking about your first car, you know that old Tercel with the back seat tore out and the passenger seat layed all the way back to fit your kit that was worth more than the car. lol  Just wanted to know whats a good beater for my 9000. I had the dw on there but it was too short, had put the Tama IC beater on but not heavy enough.  I see these puresounds, slugs, wood, danbar, and others and would really like to know LGM's viewpoint on a good beater.

I really can't help you cause I had tha same problem. I tried a few beaters and then realized it was the DW pedal itself that I didn't like. I find them too light.

Have you tried using the beater weights for the Iron Cobra beater?

You could also try Slug's Power Head "Punch Collar" model (L3D-2PC-X)

I haven't used the Danmar beater, but I think that Jeremy Haynes (username jhaynes) uses it...

I have the felt Puresound beater - I don't think that you'd consider them heavy, although it comes with an adjustable weight.  I'm not sure if they sell the weights separately for their beaters.

Good luck on your quest...
