This is my problem (not just in weight loss) :(

Same here.  :-\

I posted this in the CS thread, but I've started drinking that Ensure stuff. I've been taking vitamins (when my mom shoves it in my mouth), and drinking water frequently. Exercising is my biggest issue. Which is weird because I used to do it all the time. That's only because I was obsessed with my stomach lol.

Take either Flintstone vitamins or Disney gummy vitamins (there are other brands as well).

A nurse friend suggested I take 2 each day because I was telling her how the One-a-Day vitamins are way too big to swallow and they make me gag. Then, a few hours later, they make me feel nauseated. But I was really trying to take better care of my body, so I wanted to take vitamins, just didn't know what to take. So she suggested kids vitamins. I asked my sister about it (she's also an RN) and she told me that she would've suggested the same thing.

Adult vitamins have extras in them that the kiddie vitamins don't have, but the kiddie vitamins have all the basics and it's better to take those than nothing at all.

If you can swallow the huge horse pills, do take them. But if you can't, don't just NOT take vitamins at all. The bottom line is that most of us don't consume all the vitamins and minerals we need on a daily basis. So taking children's vitamins is better than taking none at all.

@ Rue, yeah those vitamins are huge! If I take Flinstone vitamins it would have to be the gummy bear ones lol. I hate the way chewable vitamins taste lol.

Yeah I'll definitely start with children's vitamins. Thanks!

I love chewables. But I take the gummies because I like gummy stuff!  :)

Ok I wanted to update on a few of my efforts.

Since this thread began, I still have not watched television, except for Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, which I watch online. I gave my televisions away and don't even have any at home (there's a small 20" in my storage closet for when my godsons come over).

I am still not doing too well with the vegetables, but I'm better than I was when the thread started. I do try to look for ways to add vegetables to my meals, and I try new vegetables that I've never had before (that's very unlike me). I started off small (like adding peppers to my pizza or lettuce to my burgers... lol) but it helped put me in the mind frame of looking for ways to add veggies to my diet.

I drink a LOT more water than I ever did, but still not as much as I need to. I haven't reached my goal here, but I'm better than I was when we started out.

I fell off on the exercise, but I do walk a lot. I love walking, so I try to do it as often as I can.

Now for the biggie. PHB's thread about skin care got me to thinking. Although I never mentioned it here (it's a bit of a sensitive subject for me), I did have some skin care goals which I shared with my accountability partner privately. I did better in some of the areas on my list, but I failed in others. Starting today (on my way downtown right now), I'm switching to all natural regimen, which will include lots of water and green vegetables, an all-natural skin care vitamin, and natural soap, toner, and moisturizer for my face.

It dawned on me (and Nessa confirmed it in the CS thread) that God does give us the answers for nearly all our ailments in the things he created. We rely on prescription drugs, chemicals, products with additives and preservatives and all kinds of stuff we can't pronounce, TRUSTING the manufacturers and their marketing lines more than we trust what God provided for us.

So I'm gonna try it with His line of products and we'll see what happens. :)

Of course, I'll keep you posted. ;)

I'm saving for an ellyptical... may have to get one used.

Also, my doctor hipped me to Quinoa... he's from the middle east somewhere, so he said it like it was something I should know about... I was like, "Huh?"

So it's a seed, I guess it falls into the grain food group.  You cook it like rice, and you can prepare it with all sorts of seasonings for variety.  It is different from other grains because it is very high in protein while being low in calories.  He told me to go to Trader Joe's or WinCo, but I found it at Wal-Mart.  He wants me to go for a week with just Quinoa and seasonings, but I wasn't quite ready for that.  I have been experimenting with it with different vegetables, and stuff.  It's pretty cool.

@ U13, how's it going with your bike?

@Nessa, have you tasted it already? Is it good? And how much do ellipticals cost new vs used? I would probably go for the used but I'm cheap when it comes to stuff like that.

Its in the mail. It should be here by next week. I'll probably ride with my coworker's group on saturday mornings...I think they do 50 miles. I'm gonna try to do 30 miles on all the other days

ROFL @ TJ's pic! :D :D

THT Status: Currently sipping on water from my new 52 oz jug, which I fill up every morning (like my lame co-workers) and sip on throughout the day. One ounce down, 51 to go.... :D :D :D

Loving my new all-natural skincare regimen. I can't even begin to tell you about the results I'm seeing - and it's only been a week! I even made an all-natural mask, which works WONDERS and feels great! I'm excited.

Still no progress on the vegetables. I may have to wait until I get married for that one, because I just don't cook anymore. *shrug*

Sorry Rue, just seeing this.  I'm still trying to find the perfect recipe, but it's okay.  It's just like rice really, but I put veggies in and stuff.  I just need the right seasoning combination (trying not to use salt, but it's coming out either bland or peppery and I don't really care for pepper)  I tried cilantro and diced tomatoes, didn't really care for that... and I LOVE cilantro...  I guess the experiments continue...

IRT your other question, those elypticals can get pricey, but I picked up that free one from my friend on Saturday.  I forgot she doesn't buy anything cheap or poorly made, that thang is nice.  It has a pulse monitor on the inner handles (the ones where you can keep your arms still instead of using them to push/pull, it has a very solid construction, and it has a monitor, electric fan, and a water bottle holder.  Down side is it doesn't fold away so it's a big monstrosity in my living room right now.  I don't really care but the person who lives with me probably doesn't care for it.  Come to think of it, I don't really care about that either.

So I started this AM doing 30 mins.  I thought I was gonna die (that's how out of shape I am), but I made it.  I gotta really work at this schedule, because to get the ellyptical in in the mornings, I'm up at 4 am, so afterwards I can shower, prepare my lunch, and do what I gotta do to be at prayer at 6 am.  It worked out really well today, but I went to bed really early last night because I was totally committed to getting it all in.

Okay well I won't try to taste it. LOL. I'm funny about new stuff. :-\

IRT the elliptical, I'm so excited for you and CRACKING UP @ the part in bold! LOL!!!!!

That's a serious schedule, sis. I'll be praying with you that you can maintain it and be consistent. You know that's always the hardest part. I'm praying I can be consistent with this water and my new skin care regimen. It's only been a week and I can see a noticeable difference already. I'm not even bothering God about the vegetables yet... LOL!
