I meant to quote BW yesterday. Need green stars asap!

I'm getting in on this thing too if you lovely folks don't mind lol.

1. Better study habits
2. Fasting more, at least once or twice a week or IDK...something
3. Start going back to the gym. I'm paying for something that I don't even use. Or going walking right after work
4. Eating healthier

 :)

Good!! Glad to have you!!! ;D

Great tip Rue IRT #2.

I got a little update.  Okay, so I been faltering with my calorie counting, I just fail to update everything in a timely manner and end up not having an accurate count.

I've been encouraged by this thread and other things to stay with it and not give up, so today, I've done a beautiful job with my tracking, thanks to a couple BB apps, so I'm pretty stoked about that.

Next step, I still have to load balancelog onto my laptop and enter all of the info at the end of the day.

It's a small thing, but I'm glad to be able to report some progress on my end, lol.

My other goal was to wear a pedometer and clock 10,000 steps a day.  I found the pedometer when I moved, but now can't locate it in the boxes of stuff yet to be unpacked, lol.  I will have victory to report in that department this week, lol.

Hopefully me too. I may have to find mine. I had like 2 of them. Good idea.

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Go Nessa!!!! I'm glad to hear that, sis. I've been praying a lot for everyone in this thread, asking the Lord to help us to stay focused, motivated, and determined, and to open our eyes to any obstacles or hindrances that are within our control so that we can remove them or work around them... or at least SEE them and not be oblivious. The Lord is definitely helping me out!

When I did calorie counting, I mostly just did it in my head throughout the day. I would literally keep a mental log of the calories and add to it throughout the day. I still LOL @ how annoyed my friends would become. We'd be at McDonalds or something and I'd be asking to see the nutritional values, then adding it to whatever else I had that day to see what size fries I had to order. LOL! And then I'd be negotiating with myself, like, "ok, I only have 400 calories left... what to do, what to do...."  :D :D :D

I thought about starting another thread but since this is health related I keep it in this one:

I actually believe that we might intake way more salt then we think. I have been paying special attention to the nutritional information on food lately. I always thought that the amount of sodium in something like raisen bread equaled the entire thing. But as I paid attention the nutritonal information (sodium, sugar, etc) covers PER SERVING!

So on the raisen bread it has about 11 to 12 slices but the serving size is one piece of bread. The sodium is 100 mg PER serving which means that for every piece of bread I eat I'm actually intaking 100mg....WOW!!!  :o

This morning I ate animal crackers and it's about 140 per serving (2 animal crackers equal one serving) so I had to watch that carefully!!

Just something to think about!

I am really enjoying this process, and yet praying that we all, including ME, remain motivated!

Last night, I messed up a little (with one of the things listed on my plan but not mentioned here). Its no biggie and I'll definitely do better today. I only had a bottle and a half yesterday (but I finished the other half just now). I did my workout (and that's the best part of this, btw. I LOVE working out!!!!).

*introducing myself as AA participants do*

My name is Dominique, friends call me Nique. I am going to Study to be quiet and do a better job at refraining from saying "things" that dont HAVE to be said and bridling my tongue....

This will be a serious process for me... especially since it's a part of my personality and has been for years; I'm the nicest gal in the world (i think) but sometimes, i know i go to far... and certainly you will not hear the last of my mouth if i feel crossed or if someone talks down to me.. I cannot stand it and i feel like i have to shut people down when they TRY to make me feel incompetent; it is a terrible feeling. ALSO, I say whatever comes to mind, sometimes.. a LOT… and I know people don’t like that and that’s perfectly fine: I don’t like everything “people” do/say, but that’s who they are and I live with that. Nonetheless, i am a work in progress and with a little long-suffering, I’ll be better and come out as pure gold! Pray for me as I’ll pray for you. .

No problem (IRT to using real name)! It's ok to feel "emotional". Maybe if more people felt like that people wouldn't be so mean and hateful! Today is just a day of wanting to grow further as a Christian and person in general and God is sending you people who will support you through the transformation! You all are doing that as I"m doing through my transformation process too. Now remember Nique that part of support is accountability. If you slip up, let us know so we can support you in love and press you to move forward. We ain't gonna fuss at ya so don't worry about that!

And that reminds me let me make a confession: I didn't do 30 full minutes of physical activity yesterday. Kind of did about 15 mins....shame on me!

Attention, please:

This is REQUIRED READING for all THT Club Members!  :D :D :D

How I lost 162 lbs in 16 months

And that's for EVERYONE, not just those whose goal is to lose weight.  This story is inspirational on so many levels - primarily because she didn't use any diet or pill or surgery or trainer or plan... she didn't even do the gym.  She didn't eliminate chocolate or McDonalds, or toss all her bad habits out the window cold turkey.  Turns out, she did the same thing I did when I had to lose my 40 lbs.

It's a great story that shows you can do "it" (whatever your "it" is) YOUR WAY in YOUR TIME by following YOUR OWN plan... as long as you stick to it. The pictures are priceless.

Quote
Hello, I?m Jodi, a 41-year-old married mother of three.

I had been overweight since the age of 10 and tried numerous diets for 25 years.  Losing a few pounds and then gaining those back plus more was a common occurrence.  Add those extra pounds up over 25 years and that equals an obese person.  I was at the point of believing that it was truly impossible for me to lose even 10 pounds, not to mention a miracle if I ever lost enough weight to reach my goal.  When I read a magazine article or watched a television show that featured an individual who lost an enormous amount of weight, I thought that only happens to ?other people;? it would never happen to me.  I had given up hope.

...I?m real, a real person who was overweight for 25 years and lost 162 pounds in 16 months by eating healthy foods, walking once each day and believing in herself!   It?s do-able!  I did it and so can you!
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

Oh.My.Jesus.

Totally Awesome.

Oh My. I declare I will share my story one day. Whooo! I am MO-TI-VATED!

Walking briskly while imagining my house was on fire with my children inside and having to get to them is what kept up my pace.  I did this every day, NO EXCUSES!   If it was raining, I used an umbrella.  If it was cold, I wore a coat.  If I was too tired, I simply relaxed when I was finished.

Ouch...she hit me hard there!

I KNOWWWWWWW right!!!

Ok, let me tell you this... and I promise I'm not bragging or anything.

Yesterday, I decided to skip my workout. So, I went about the rest of my evening... cooked dinner, ate dinner, showered, got dressed for bed, did LGM, FB, and played a little spades... got a little budget stuff done for work, and a little client work done as well. I had just shut the computer down, turned the lights off, and was in a text conversation about to go to sleep, when I thought about it. I had NO VALID REASON to skip my workout. None. I was just being lazy and giving in to the fact that "I didn't feel like it."

I literally got up at 11:00 or so, turned the lights on, and did my workout.

That's how we have to be with whatever our goals are... one of mine is to track my daily expenses, and I'm REALLLLL good for "not feeling like it," or saying I'll just do it at the end of the week. NOT!!! Skipping one time gives you permission to skip twice... and that leads to a habit of skipping, which leads to a return to the former lifestyle.

Rain, sleet, snow, freezing or hot, let's do it!!! NO EXCUSES!!!!

TESTIFY!!

I don't see it as bragging. When we were in chat on Tuesday, I skipped out because I had to workout. Normally I'd stay long, but I had to get up at 5:30, which gave me about 30 mins to workout and be in bed by 12:00-12:15.

I am quick to say, "Welp, it's raining. No workout for me." Mi Dun, Mi Dun, Mi Dunnnnn with excuses!! :D No more.
